We have all heard it growing up, and if you are a parent you have more than likely said it before. The timeless phrase,"Because I said so." As children we never could accept that, we would follow it up with "but why?" or "how come?"
Sometimes "Because I said so" is enough. It does not require further discussion, or explanation. Parents know this. Some things are not up for discussion, and do not require dialog. Our heavenly Father has many "Because I said so". A couple that I think many "Christians" argue about are The Great Commandment and the Great Commission. These are just a couple of examples of God saying, because I said so.
The Great Commandment
Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself."
The Great Commission
Matthew 28:19-20 "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
These are not guidelines, they are not recommendations, or questions. If you are a Christ follower, these are not up for discussion. God says DO these things; because I said so. SO forget the yeah but, I'm not, I can't, I don't and DO it. Because He said so.
